About the artists:
The Digital Hobo is the solo project of Canmore, Alberta-based singer-songwriter Scott Diehl. Drawing from his lived experience of having resided coast-to-coast and everywhere in between across Canada, Diehl channels his ubiquitous sense of home, space, and place into his wandering minstrel persona. As Digital Hobo, he creatively traverses the connections, conversations, and landscapes he has witnessed to advocate for profoundly necessary change as it relates to social and environmental justice. Through songwriting traditions borrowing from Americana, Roots, Reggae, and Folk, he seeks to amplify the voices of humans and ecosystems he has had the privilege to encounter on his travels. Digital Hobo is a project that holds space for the rights of humanity and nature. It is a project that explores, with curiosity and care, hope in a shattering world.
Marten Borch is a seasoned and versatile multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter with over two decades of captivating performances under his belt. Steeped in the essence of folk music, he weaves together a tapestry of influences, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists such as Natalie Macmaster, Artie Shaw, Pink Floyd, and even Linkin Park.
Throughout his career, Marten has crisscrossed the country taking his music to audiences at events and festivals. Alongside his band, The Borch Brothers, he has performed at gatherings like North Country Fair, Taste of Edmonton, Big Valley Jamboree, and Robson Valley Folk Festival.
With heartfelt authenticity, Marten bares his emotions, taking listeners on an immersive journey through moments of pure joy and the depths of sadness, from fiery bursts of anger, to the beauty present in all life.
