How local college students are engaging in the community
How to turn old socks, skis, and climbing gear into useful items!
How other people in the community need/want to reduce waste
After their presentation, there will be discussions around how we can reduce waste, barriers we may face when it comes to waste reduction, and what waste reduction programs, initiative, events & services you want to see in our community!
About the Presenter:
Timberline Alpine Academy is a vocational College based in Mini Hrpa (Banff). They provide programming for about 70 students per season, age 18 and up, from Canada and around the world. Their programming includes ski instructor certification, avalanche skills training, wilderness first aid, indigenous relations, ecology and more! Their goal is to foster a well rounded outdoor community that values both technical training and a deep appreciation for ecology, community, and history.
First year students explore their impacts on community and ecology through hands on research projects that you can hear about tonight and all this week!
