contact us

The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley is located in Châ Ûpchîchîyen Kudebi (Canmore), which stands on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional lands of the Îyarhe Nakoda Nations of Good Stoney, Chiniki, and Bearspaw; three Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Piikani, Kainai and Siksika; the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Battle River Region (IV) of Otipemisiwak Métis Nation of Alberta.

We acknowledge the past, present, and future generations of Indigenous communities who help us steward this land, as well as honour and celebrate this place of creativity, collaboration, and learning. We have much to learn from them.

The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley is committed to supporting and empowering everyone, including equity-deserving groups, in taking environmental action and leadership. We acknowledge that climate change disproportionately affects marginalized communities, and we seek to build an equitable, climate-positive society that will ultimately lead to systemic change.
